Do the Zidane …
A German Blog called Spreeblick invented a new German idiom: “sich zum Zidane machen” which translates loosely to “do the Zidane”.
An entry in a dictionary might look like the following lines.
do the Zidane – to commit something utterly stupid, literally ten minutes before being elevated to eternal national stardom, for no good reason. See: Twilight of the Gods
Note: Normally, this is a German blog, but this calls for some internationalilty.
